In a Charles Schulz "Peanuts" cartoon, Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown are looking over the top of a small wall. Both look quite depressed. Patty starts to talk to Charlie Brown. "I need to talk to someone who knows what it's like to feel like a fool," she says. "Someone who knows what it's like to be humiliated. Someone who has been disgraced, beaten, and degraded ... someone who's been there..."

In the last frame, there are no words. Charlie Brown simply turns to Patty with his arms outstretched to comfort her.

In like fashion, Christ stands in front of us with His arms outstretched to comfort us where we are. It doesn't matter who we are or what we have done, Christ died for us, and for our sins. If we haven't done so already, why don't we embrace Christ by opening up our hearts, by asking for His forgiveness, and by letting Him come into our lives.
