Bob & Connie Reynolds

E-mail Print PDF

They make a great team, Tashi, Bob and Connie Reynolds. Tashi is from Tibet, Bob from Zionsville, Indiana and Connie Guancione Reynolds is from San Jose, California. None of them had any retail clothing experience before opening Connie's Country Casuals in 1993. However, Connie had always had an "eye" for style and had helped to dress former co-workers and friends all her life.

Bob graduated from Zionsville High, was drafted into the Army and then attended the University of Tampa. Connie graduated from Willow Glen High, in San Jose and then San Jose State, where she majored in Education and Home Economics. Bob spent 34 years with AT&T as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1984. After retiring, he set up a Manufacturing Rep. Business covering different states and several product lines. Connie was in marketing with several companies ranging from Kelly Services, McGraw Hill, Wang Labs and Octel Communications. She also worked for Bob in his Rep. Business, covering accounts in several states, before opening Connie's Country Casuals.

Connie and Bob met in Omaha, Nebraska in 1978. They happened to be staying at the same hotel and a conversation led to marriage in 1980. They moved to Dallas that same year when AT&T decided to transfer Bob and they lived there until April 1993, when they moved to The Ranch. They visited here with Dallas friends and purchased a golf course lot in 1988. They built their house in 1991 and, for a time, were weekenders. Their home is quite unusual, with many angles and colors. It looks out over the number 6 fairway.

The business was originally located in Woodland Village but they moved it to FM 2869 in September of 1999. In the early days, in Woodland Village, they would stick a sign out on the highway that said "BOUTIQUE OPEN TODAY". They would take it down when they had to go back on the road for the Rep. Business. Connie would bring in clothes from Dallas and lay them out on her floor at home. Her neighbors would come in and buy them before she could take them to the store.

Their "trip of a life-time" was a two-week Mediterranean Cruise in 1996. They visited France, Italy, Greece and Turkey on The Diamond Radisson. They are headed for Vermont soon for the fall foliage, followed by a 21st Wedding Anniversary trip to Carmel, California in October.

Connie has a daughter named Michele Stephan who is single and lives in Santa Clara, California. Bob has two children who both live in Indiana. Son Jeff and wife Brenda live in Carmel, Indiana. They have no children. Daughter Jane married Bob Stuck and they live in Zionsville, Indiana. He has two children from a previous marriage and she has one.

Connie is active in The Nine Holers, and in the Hawkin's / Holly Lake Rotary Club, and Bob plays league tennis. They attend Holly Tree Chapel. Tashi is sole custodian over Connie's Country Casuals and has little time for outside activities.
