Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.

When you give your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.

Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

October 19th: Deputy J.W. Williams was dispatched to CR 1360 in the Quitman area with regard to the theft of 1,200 feet of copper wire valued at $6,000. The case is under investigation.

October 18th: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 700 block of CR 1912 in the Yantis area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked residence by breaking a window out of the back door. He advised that the missing items included a 22 caliber Marlin single shot rifle, a 12-gauge and a 20-gauge H&R shotgun, a leather jacket and an alligator skin motorcycle seat all valued at a total of $900. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 2900 block of FM 2088 with regard to a copper theft. The case is under investigation.

Also on this date, Deputy Adams met a victim in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that his storage building had been broken into. Items taken include several tools, a Dutch oven, a splitting mall, a highchair, a turkey fryer, kitchen uniforms, a Tamale King cooker, rods, reels, and a Kenmore window unit. The total value of the stolen items is $2,245. The case is under investigation.

October 16th: Deputy David Hitt was dispatched to the 1400 block of FM 2966 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked residence and stolen a 40-inch LCD television and a three-gallon Craftsman air compressor. The items are valued at $688. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Sgt. Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 1700 block of CR 3220 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had kicked open the front door of his residence to gain entry. Several pieces of jewelry were taken. The case is under investigation.

October 15th: Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to the 1900 block of FM 2088 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his residence. The items stolen include a Marlin 22 caliber silver 22 semi-automatic with a scope, a black 22 semi-automatic with a dark walnut stock, a 44 Marlin 1897 saddle lever action, a brown 30-30 pre 64 with deer, trees and flowers painted on the stock. The total valued is $2,085. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Owens was dispatched to the 400 block of FM 14 in the Hawkins area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his unlocked residence. The items stolen include 10 pairs of Nike Air Jordan footwear valued at $2,000; a black IPod valued at $300; a Nintendo Wii valued at $200, an HP Pavillion Notebook valued at $900; an LGHD 42-inch flatscreen television valued at $1,500 and a brown Ruger 22 caliber rifle with scope valued at $300. The case is under investigation.

October 14th: Deputy Owens was dispatched to the 1500 block of CR 2460 in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that the front door had been kicked open by unknown suspect(s). He advised that several items had been stolen. These include a brown 22 caliber Marlin backpack semi-automatic rifle with clip, a brown 17 caliber Marlin bolt-action mock 2 rifle with a 9 power scope, a Sony Play Station 2, and a Majellin handheld GPS navigation system. The items are valued at a total of $900. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Owens was dispatched to the 1800 block of FM 1254 in the Mineola area with regard to another residential burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had kicked in his front door to gain entry to the residence. He advised that several items had been taken. These included a black 20-inch flat screen television, a black and silver 177 Daisy BB gun, a gold watch, a black Remington 12-gauge pump, a 100-year-old 12-gauge single shot rifle and a brown Marlin semi-automatic 22 caliber with a clip. The items are valued at $945. The case is under investigation.

Also on this date, Deputy Owens was dispatched to the 900 block of Hwy 37 north with regard to the theft of 100 feet of 10-3 copper wire, copper fittings, quick connects with plastic connectors and 18-inch pigtails. The case is under investigation.

On the sale date, Deputy J.W. Williams was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 1505 with regard to another copper theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s)came to the construction site of her new home and stole 65 feet of Romex copper wire which had been run through the attic to supply power to the A/C system. The case is under investigation.

Also on this date, Deputy O'Grady was dispatched to the 1200 block of FM 2422 in the Mineola area with regard to another residential burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had kicked in her front door to gain entry to the home. She said several items had been taken. These include a 1965 class ring with a blue stone, a silver Coventry yellow necklace, two yellow bicentennial railroad pocket watches, a yellow chain with a cross and a clear stone. The items are valued at $835. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy O'Grady was dispatched to the 1200 block of CR 3220 in the Quitman area with regard to another residential burglary. The victim advised that the front door had been kicked in to gain entry. Several items were taken. These include a Vizio 42-inch black flat screen television, a Sony Play Station 2, a black Sony 37-inch flat screen television and a yellow band with clear round stones. These have a total value of $2,550. The case is under investigation.

Also on this date, Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 7221 in the Quitman area on yet another residential burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had broken the window out of her bedroom to gain entry to the home. Several pieces of jewelry, $300 in cash and a decorative knife were taken. The case is under investigation.

Finally, on this date, Deputy Hitt was dispatched to the 1700 block of Hwy 11 east in the Winnsboro area with regard to another residential burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had kicked open the door to his residence and stolen a rod and reel combo valued at $500. The case is under investigation.

October 13th: Deputy Armendariz was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 2427 in the Mineola area with regard to a dispute. On arrival and investigation, Christopher Combs of Mineola was placed under arrest for assault by contact/family violence, interference with an emergency call and indecent exposure.

During the period there were 98 males and 22 females at the Wood County Jail. There were 31 bookings and 28 releases.

October 12th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 3000 block of Hwy 37 north at the B & W Garage in the Winnsboro area with regard to a report of criminal mischief on a red 1996 Western Star truck. The cost to replace the engine is $15,000. The truck is insured. The case is under investigation.

October 11th: Deputy Williams met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's department with regard to the theft of two advisement signs valued at $480. The signs are 4 by 8 and 4 by 4. They were on Hwy 154 at CR 1895 in the Yantis area. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White along with Lt. John Farmer observed a vehicle on CR 4287 in the Winnsboro area failing to give half the roadway to on-coming traffic. The driver of the vehicle advised that he did not have a driver's license. On further investigation, Trevor R. Seabolt of Winnsboro was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.

October 10th: Deputy Williams met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a violation of bond conditions. On investigation, a warrant was issued for Monty James Clayton.

October 9th: Deputy Chris Turner was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2263 in the Mineola area with regard to a disturbance. On investigation, Rickey Everette Williams of Mineola was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

October 8th: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 1400 block of Hwy 80 east at Jarvis College with regard to a subject in possession of marijuana. On arrival, it was ascertained that Stephan Fazon Desmond Smith of Mt. Pleasant was in possession of about 0.9097 ounces of marijuana in a drug-free zone.

October 7th: Deputy Chris Bettis met with a complainant with regard to illegal dumping on CR 1580 in the Alba area. The case has been forwarded to the Wood County Litter Abatement Office.

During the period there were 82 males and 21 females at the Wood County Jail for a total of 103. There were 28 bookings and 30 releases.
