Court OK's tax sale of five properties

Meeting in regular session Friday, May 27, Wood County Commissioners approved the tax sale of five properties. Commissioners also approved the renewal option for oil mix.

The sale of five properties through the bid process administered by Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mount was approved. Among the properties was a one acre tract on Highway 37 North of Mineola ($1,200); lots 471 and 472 in the Suneagle Bay addition, Yantis $600; lots 16A and 17A and Block 160-4 in Mineola Townsites ($620); Lot 25 Francis Riley Addition, Mineola ($4,000), and Lot 5A and 6A Mineola Townsites ($8,500).

The bulk fuel contract was let to Winkle Oil Company, Winnsboro. Winkle has been the supplier for the past several years. Also being renewed was the contract with Basa Resources, Dallas, for road oil. The oil mix contract renewal was tabled.

The court approved an extension of a contract with Wood County Asphalt, Ltd. as a supplier of road oil mix.

In other action the court approved:

- a two-week County payroll of $288,808.41.

- employee and family health claims of $40,754.07.

- claims and payments totaling $276.727.24.

- the April report and year-todate reports of the treasurer.

- annual service contract ($720 annually) for printer system for the IT department.

- set a public hearing date of June 24 for the revision of Lakeshore Acres Subdivision.

Personnel actions include:

- Kandice Hand, new hire, part-time, voter registration clerk, Elections Administrator, $9.00/hour.

- Laura Langford, new hire, part-time, voter registration clerk, Elections Administration, $9.00/hour.

- Bobby Harill Mathis, new hire, seasonal temporary, Pct.-1 County Lake, $9.00/hour.

- Gerald Glenn Burnett, new hire, seasonal temporary, Pct.-1 County Lake, $9.00/hour.

- Thomas C. Holland, laborer II, grade step raise, Pct.-1 R&B, from 14.82/hour to $15.31/hour.

The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hour public notice.
