Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information which leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous. When you give information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You need NOT give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

January 19th: Deputy Zachary Soto was dispatched to the 300 block of Holiday Village Drive in Quitman regarding a report of criminal trespass. The complainant stated that her neighbor came onto her property and she did not want her neighbor to come back onto her property. Michael Andrew Long was issued a criminal trespass warning not to go back on the complainant's property.
January 18th: Sgt. Lee Williams was dispatched to the 3900 block of Hwy 154 east in the Quitman area with regard to a disturbance in progress. On investigation, it was found that the two suspects had assaulted each other. Charlie Cadenhead and her brother Casey Cadenhead were placed under arrest for assault by contact.
On the same date, Deputy Michael Gann was dispatched to the 7900 block of Hwy 69 north of Alba with regard to a suspicious person knocking on the door of a residence. The complainant said she did not know why the subject was knocking on her door a three a.m. On making contact with the subject in question, he advised that he had run out of gas and was seeking help. On further conversation and consent to search, a green leafy substance was located and James Lee Lipscomb was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.
January 17th: Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 2000 block of CR 4250 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that a vehicle had run over a pair of mailboxes in a brick enclosure. The complainant advised that the vehicle left the scene, leaving a few headlight parts that belong to a Ford vehicle.
January 16th: Deputy David Hill met with a complainant in the sheriff department lobby who advised that unknown suspects had used his identity. This case is under investigation and the complainant advised that he would contact the identity theft web site. (www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idthefts)
On the same date, Deputy J.W. Williams met with a complainant in the sheriff's department lobby who also advised that an unknown suspect had used his identity. The complainant said that his identity had been used to open an account with Dish Network.
Also on this date, Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 500 block of PR 6665 in the Mineola area with regard to a report of harassment. The complainant advised that he had been receiving calls from a subject every morning and he wanted the calls to stop. The subject in this matter was contacted. The case is under investigation.
Finally, on this date, Deputy Chris Bettis was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 2169 in the Quitman area with regard to an assault report. The complainant advised that her son grabbed and shoved her. Daniel Ray Keen was placed under arrest for assault by contact.
January 14th: Deputy Soto was dispatched to Holly Lake Ranch with regard to an accident. On arrival, the deputy observed a white Chevrolet SUV with front end damage sitting by a red Pontiac passenger car. On checking and speaking to the driver of the red Pontiac, there was a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. On further investigation, the driver's speech was very slurred. He was unable to stand and complete a field sobriety test. Clinton Scott Yale was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
January 13th: Deputy Guy Powell was dispatched to the 100 block of Holly Hill at Holly Lake Ranch to meet with a complainant with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had damaged his front door. He advised that the door was standing open and had a small crack in it. Nothing in the home was missing or disturbed.

During the period there were 76 males at the Wood County Jail and five females for an overall total of 81 inmates. There were 28 bookings and 23 releases.
January 12th: Deputy Sam Threadgill met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that her home was vandalized. She said that several windows were broken and the walls and ceiling were also damaged. The case is under investigation.
January 11th: Deputy Williams met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a stolen firearm. The complainant advised that a Ruger .357 revolver was stolen from her bedroom. The case is under investigation.
January 10th: Deputy Arthur Judge was dispatched to the 800 block of Hwy 80 East with regard to a disturbance. On making contact with the suspect and upon searching the suspect, the suspect advised he had some marijuana in his pants pocket. Kenny R. Alvey was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.
January 9th: Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to the 300 block of PR 5174 in Quitman with regard to a male subject who was going from house to house trying to find gas for his car. After making contact with the subject, it became obvious that he was intoxicated. Elvin Omar Rivera was arrested for public intoxication.
On the same date, Deputy Threadgill was dispatched to the 1000 block of CR 2950 with regard to e theft. The complainant advised that in December she had taken her two firearms to a subject to have them worked on and cleaned. She said she had asked several times for her property back and the subject avoids her. The case is under investigation.
January 7th: Deputy Soto was dispatched to the Lake Hawkins area to assist Texas Parks & Wildlife with regard to a subject who had advised that he had been hunting and his vehicle had become stuck. On searching for the subject, he walked up to the scene. Donald Brett Findley was arrested for public intoxication
On the same date, Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 700 block of CR 1388 in Yantis with regard to a burglary. The residence was not locked. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) stole four guns from a locked cabinet in his bedroom. The case is under investigation.
January 5th: Deputy Williams spoke with a complainant with regard to identity theft. The complainant advised that she had received a letter from a collection agency stating that she owed $43,000 in student loans. She advised that an unknown person had used her identity to secure the loans.
