Meeting in regular session Friday, February 5, 2010, with one Commissioner- Galloway absent, Wood County Commissioners approved payments for payroll of $299,114.64, accounts payable claims totaling $ 337,653.82 including health care costs of $ 62,584.15. .
They then approved 2 personel actions, one from Wood County Sheriff's Department where County Court Bailiff Don Paul Fortner resigned as of 1-22-10 and was taken off payroll; and one from the County Treasurer's office where Cody L. Saucier was hired full time at salary of $28,980, reported by Debra Miears, CSCD.
Agenda item #4, Line Item Transfers and Budget Admendments, there were two where Hotel Motel item for Tourism Promotion of $1,600 was moved to Postage and Economic Delelopment item other for $70 was moved to County organizations.
They then approved a resolution from Commissioner Pace to set a Public Hearing to admend the Wood County Subdivision Regulations from 2 years to 4 years. The date agreed to was 4-1-10 at 10 AM.
They then approved a report on Racial Profiling submitted by Pct. 2 Constable Ed. Shadbolt.
They then approved reports from all 4 Wood County Constables.
The Wood County Treasurer, Becky Cannon, filed reports covering the three months through December 2009, completing the catch up process that has been hanging over the Court for many months. She had filed reports for the whole year of 2008 with the Court two meetings ago and the first nine months of 2009 at the last meeting.
They then approved a resolution to approve an Irrevocable Documentary Blanket Letter of Credit for the Railroad Commission of the State of Texas from Bank Texas, in the amount of $25,000 for the purchase of Road Oil.
They then tabled a discussion of or action on CR 3271, where a the road runs over a dam and agreed to possibly call a public hearing to discuss county's responsibility for dam and its possible exclusion
The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hour public notice.
