Holly Lake’s lakes may be in trouble!

E-mail Print PDF
Those who attended the recent open meeting on our lakes heard some disturbing things concerning Lake Greenbriar (250 acres on East side of Ranch) which provides 100% of the water free for our golf course as it is 100% spring fed. However, there is a possibility that the run off from the golf course fertilizer (and also poossibly from the big dairy farm to the NE) is causing algae naturally growing in the lake to grow faster & cause problems in the Lake & in the golf course pipes sucking the lake water out for the course's watering, by clogging them in some way. Our "B" Board is on top of this matter along with the other things such as Deer and signs and in fact will be meeting tomorrow (Tues. 7-27) with certain experts for possible answers to the algae situation (turns black when it breaks off and dies, stinks also) with costs to fix running up to $25,000 which should be borne by all.
