Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.
When you give your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

July 7th: Deputy Zachary Soto was dispatched to the 400 block of CR 3639 in the Hawkins area with regard to a disturbance. The victim advised that she asked her son about a vehicle when he became angry and started to yell and curse at her. The victim went into her house and her son followed her. She said he punched her and threw her walker across the room. Jimmie Harper was placed under arrest for injury to the elderly.
July 6th: Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to the 3700 block of FM 852 east in the Winnsboro area with regard to a burglary of a building. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had cut the lock off her storage building and stolen a red Kawasaki four-wheeler, a 400 c.c. camo four-wheeler with a storage box on the back, plus a set of aluminum ramps valued at over $8,000. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the CR 2810 in the Mineola area with regard to a theft of copper. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen two full tolls of copper wiring valued at over $200. The case is under investigation.
July 5th: Sgt. Lee Wilkins was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 1576 in the Alba area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his unlocked storage building and had stolen a red pancake compressor, an air hose, an air sprayer with hose, a scroll saw, and a black and orange air gun. The items are valued at over $1,300. This case is under investigation.
On the same date, Sgt. Wilkins was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 2167 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had broken the hasps to his storage building and stolen a 1960s stainless steel drill. This case is under investigation.
July 4th: Deputy Soto and Deputy Sam Threadgill were on patrol at Lake Holbrook when several subjects advised them of a disturbance at the point. The officers made contact with two subjects who were arguing. They noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the two. When the officers spoke to each subject separately, they found that the odor emitted from each of them. On investigation, Henry Clyde Brewer was placed under arrest for public intoxication and Dustin James Brewer was placed under arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
On the same date, Deputy David Hill was to the 4600 block of Hwy 154 in the Yantis area with regard to the theft of ten gallons of fuel. The victim advised that the driver of the vehicle had pumped gas valued at $31 into an early 1990s Mitsubishi Eclipse then had driven away without paying for the fuel. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Robbie Ballard was patrolling Lake Holbrook when he observed a newer model Kia passenger car. On checking the vehicle, he noted the registration had expired in January of 2009. The officer made contact with the driver who advised that his driver's license was expired. The driver was wanted out of Tarrant County for possession of a controlled substance, and in Wood County for fleeing a police officer. The passengers, David McCarmack and Steven Richardson were placed under arrest for public intoxication. The driver, Dale Sikes, was placed under arrest for the Tarrant County and the Wood County warrants.
July 3rd: Deputy James White was dispatched to CR 1810 in the Yantis area with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had shot four holes through a window of his residence. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 1100 block of CR 2260 in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had kicked in his front door and knocked his 52-inch LG television onto the floor. The TV set is valued at $1,400. There was nothing missing from the residence. The case is under investigation.
July 2nd: Deputy Guy Powell met with a victim in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to an assault. The victim advised that she and her friend went to the 100 block of CR 2153 in the Quitman area to pick up her daughter. The victim advised that she and her friend were assaulted by her daughter's father. On investigation, Heath Allen Nutt was issued two citations for assault by contact.
Also on this date, Deputy Soto was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 7541 in the Mineola area with regard to a theft and criminal trespass. The victim's boyfriend advised that he let his girlfriend's son into the residence and the son stole two speakers valued at over $299. The case is under investigation.
July 1st: Sgt. Wilkins was dispatched to the 800 block of FM 17 north in the Alba area with regard to a disturbance. On investigation, Russell Melton was placed under arrest for assault by contact/family violence.
On the same date, Deputy Rusty Owens met with a victim in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered onto her property located in the 100 block of Main Street in the Yantis area and stolen a blue and gray Yamaha Raptor 700R battery powered four-wheeler. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Soto made a traffic stop on a maroon passenger vehicle on Hwy 80 east at Lake Fork Creek in the Hawkins area, On checking, it was found that the driver did not have a driver's license. The passenger, Jose Lopez Fernandez, was wanted out of Wood County on a possession of marijuana warrant. The driver, Jorge Lopez Fernandez, was placed under arrest for having no driver's license, and the passenger was placed under arrest for the outstanding Wood County warrant.
June 30th: Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to the 4600 blocks of Hwy 154 west with regard to an assault. The victim advised that she was hit in the jaw and ear by a subject who was not supposed to be on the property. Kimberly Dawn Sweat was issued a citation for assault by contact.

During the period there were 75 males at the Wood County Jail and 9 females for an overall total of 84. There were 43 bookings and 39 releases.
June 27th: Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 1950 with regard to a burglary in the Yantis area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had broken into his storage building and stolen a 20 gallon air compressor valued at $350. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to the 1000 block of CR 1900 with regard to a criminal mischief report in the Yantis area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had dented the sheet metal on his residence. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy White was dispatched to Quitman Lake with regard to a disorderly conduct report. On investigation, Glenn Edward Hollis was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
June 26th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 600 block of CR 3811 in the Hawkins area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered her residence and has stolen a 22 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol, medication and a diamond ring. There was no sign of forced entry into the residence. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 200 block of PR 7161 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his unlocked gate and stolen his chainsaw, weed eater and several other tools with a total value of $1,300. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Sellers was dispatched to the 2000 block of Hwy 80 west in the Mineola area with regard to a report of criminal trespass. The victim advised that a subject was trespassing on her property again. The subject had a criminal trespass warning issued in April of this year. Glen Edward Hollis was arrested for criminal trespassing.
June 25th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 2000 block of CR 3234 in the Quitman area with regard to an assault. The victim advised that her husband had pulled her hair and pushed her. Danny Ray Thigpen, Jr. was arrested for assault by contact.
On the same date, Deputy Zachary Soto was dispatched to the 700 block of CR 3450 in the Hawkins area with regard to a criminal mischief report. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had damaged the rubber seal of the window on her 1991 gray Honda four-door vehicle. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Soto and Constable Ed Shadbolt conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 80 and Loop 564 in the Mineola area on a reckless driving report. When contact was made with the driver, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was noticed on his person. On investigation, Eusebio Plaza was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
June 24th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 6400 block of FM 14 south in the Hawkins area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen a set of Monroe semi-truck shocks, an air compressor, a nail gun, electric routers and several other hand tools valued at $1,700. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to ETMC Quitman with regard to a dog bite that took place in the 200 block of CR 1942 in the Yantis area. The victim advised that he was at a patient's home when her dog bit him on his side. The victim did not require any sutures. The dog was current on all his vaccinations.
Also on this date, Deputy Jayson Farmer met with a victim in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to the theft of his boat and trailer valued at$6,200. The case is under investigation.
June 23rd: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 300 block of PR 7844 in the Hawkins area with regard to a structure fire. The victim advised that he was awakened by a neighbor who told him his house was on fire. The home was unoccupied and was insured. This case has been forwarded to Fire Marshal Randy Selman.
On the same date, Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to CR 4836 in the Winnsboro area where a 1999 New Holland LB115 backhoe was in the roadway. The victim advised that the backhoe belonged to his neighbor and that suspect(s) had torn up the dash to hotwire the backhoe. When the property owner came from Plano, it was found that a Kumatsu bull dozer, 400 feet of copper wire, 500 steel fence panels, a Pindle hitch trailer, a bumper pull trailer, an air compressor and a cement mixer had all been stolen from his property. The case is under investigation.
June 22nd: Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to FM 17 north in the Alba area with regard to a theft of fishing equipment. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen his ice chest and four rod-and-reel combos valued at over $450. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Soto was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 5564 in the Alba area with regard to a disturbance. On arrival, Alba Police Dept. Sgt. Ramirez and DPS Trooper Williams advised that the subject had fled on foot before their arrival. The victim advised that her brother had hit her. She advised that she just wanted a criminal trespass warning issued to her brother to stay off her property. The suspect, Billy Douglas Nicholson, was later located and placed under arrest for an outstanding Wood County warrant and was also issued a criminal trespass warning.
