June 27th: At approximately 3:10 p.m., Wood County deputies were dispatched to Lake Quitman on CR 1416 with regard to a possible drowning. On arrival two subjects were administering CPR on a white male. EMS had already been summoned. The subjects advised that the victim was about 30 yards off shore when the victim said he could not breathe and they pulled him from the water. The victim's girlfriend advised that he suffered from high blood pressure. He was taken to ETMC in Quitman where he was pronounced dead. The victim, Hube Larrimre Harles, age 62, was sent to Dallas Forensics for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
June 22nd: Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to FM 17 in the Alba area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen several fishing rods and reels valued at over $1,700 from the back of his pickup truck. The case is under investigation.
June 21st: Sgt. Lee Wilkins was dispatched to the 5300 block of FM 852 east with regard to a theft in the Winnsboro area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen $300 from a money box in his unlocked residence. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Sgt. Jayson Farmer was dispatched to the 100 block of White Foot in the Quitman area with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had slashed all four tires on his yellow 1999 Ford Mustang. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Owens was dispatched to CR 2231 and CR 2263 with regard to a subject yelling profanities. Glen Edward Hollis was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Finally on this date, Sgt. Farmer was dispatched to the 90 block of Hwy 37 north in the Quitman area with regard to a criminal mischief report. The victim advised that two of her United States flags and a POW/MIA flag with poles were cut up by unknown suspects. The case is under investigation.
June 20th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 800 block of FM 778 in the Quitman area with regard to the theft of three window units. The victim advised that he had been working on the home, trying to make it livable again. He advised that the back door did not lock so he had put a chain on it. The suspect(s) had cut the chain and gained entry to the residence. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Chris Bettis was dispatched to the 1000 block of hwy 154 west in the Quitman area with regard to an attempted robbery of a residence. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had attempted to enter the house through a window. The victim's wife was in the house at the time and heard the window opening. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy J.W. Williams was dispatched to a structure fire in the 1100 block of CR 2351 in the Quitman area. The victim advised that his wife said there was smoke in a bedroom. It is unknown if the home was insured. The case has been forwarded to Fire Marshal Randy Selman.
June 19th: Deputy Williams was dispatched to PR 2661 in the Mineola area with regard to a stolen aluminum flat-bottom boat. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had come onto his property and taken the boat. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 4400 block of CR 1600 with regard to the burglary of a residence in the Alba area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked residence and had stolen cash, tools, several DVDs, a Play Station 2 console and games. The case is under investigation.
June 18th: On this date at approximately 11:23 a.m. Wood County deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of FM 2225 in the Quitman area with regard to an assault. On arrival the victim was in the front yard bleeding from her face. She advised that her son hit, shoved and punched her in the face. She was transported by personal vehicle to the emergency room in Quitman. On investigation, Brandon Irving Nichols was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence. Bond was set at $20,000.
Also on this date, Deputy Soto was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 7979 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a dog bite. The victim advised that he and his son were walking their dog on CR 3978 when two dogs ran up and bit him on the finger, bit his son on the hand and also bit his small dog. The owner was given two citations for failing to vaccinate her dogs. Both dogs were quarantined.
On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 4586 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a structure fire. The victim advised that someone passing by his residence advised him that his shed was on fire. The victim said the building or contents were insured.
Also on this date, Deputy Soto was dispatched to the 90 block of CR 3580 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a burglary of a vehicle. The victim advised that $230 were taken from his unlocked silver 2005 Chevy passenger car. The case is under investigation.
Finally, on this date, Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 8700 block of FM 852 east in the Winnsboro area with regard to the theft of 200 feet of copper welding leads. The case is under investigation.

June 16th: Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 900 block of CR 1388 in the Quitman area on a 911 call with regard to a disturbance. The victim advised that her husband had pushed, hit her in the face and held her down to prevent her from leaving the residence. Edwin Dwaine Brinkley was placed under arrest for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
June 15th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 300 block of CR 2460 in the Mineola area with regard to a vehicle that had been stolen out of Lindale. On arrival, the 1996 red Ford Mustang GT was located at a residence and returned to its owner.
June 14th: Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to Hwy 69 south in the Alba area with regard to a theft. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen a Kobalt 60-gallon upright air compressor from a job site. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Sgt. Jayson Farmer was dispatched to the Winnsboro Police Department with regard to an assault. Donald Nolan Winkle was issued a citation for assault by contact.
June 13th: Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to the 700 block of CR 4490 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a burglary of a house and two buildings. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked residence and buildings. He said that a window A/C unit had been stolen from the house, and a chainsaw, electrical fittings and several tools were taken from both buildings. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Zachary Soto was on Hwy 37 at FM 778 when he heard radio traffic advising of a reckless driver going into the city limits of Quitman. Deputy Soto assisted Quitman Police Officer Hanner in locating the reckless driver. The deputy observed the suspect vehicle and stopped it. On making contact with the driver, it was ascertained that the suspect was driving with an invalid license. Tiffany Rochelle Kemp of Mt. Vernon was placed under arrest for driving while license invalid.
June 9th: Deputy Robbie Ballard was patrolling at Lake Holbrook and observed a vehicle in the parking lot. Contact was made with subjects at the vehicle. They all advised that they were all under age and had come to the lake with a friend. While speaking with the subjects, an open container of alcohol was located. The friend showed up and a search of the vehicle was conducted. On searching, marijuana was located in the vehicle. The juveniles were released and Willie Gerald Adkins of Lindale was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.
On the same date, Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 2200 block of FM 2869 in the Hawkins area with regard to a check that had been forged. The victim advised that the subject had passed a forged check. On investigation a warrant was issued for Justin Lee Williams. Williams was arrested on June 14th.
