The year 1983 marked the five-hundredth anniversary of the great reformer, Martin Luther, whose stature increases with each coming year. A note was found on Luther's deathbed. The note, scrawled in German and Latin, said, "We are life - bread!

I dare say that the church is a fellowship of beggars, receiving and offering love, support, and hope. Committed Christians acknowledge their dependence upon God and their interdependence on each other. They are always in the bread line, if not receiving, then giving.

What is this bread? Jesus! In John 6: 32, Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." (NIV)

Are you hungry? Come to Jesus. There you can find the bread of life. Do you know others who are hungry? Lead them to Jesus, so they can receive the bread of life, too!
