Wood County Primary Election Runoff

Becky Burford defeated Kevin Gilbreath in the April 13 runoff election for Wood County Treasurer. The race drew 2,196 voters with Burford receiving 1,534 votes, or 60.85 percent and Gilbreath favored by 552 voters, or 39.15 percent.
Since there is no Democrat candidate on the November ballot, Burford will take office as Wood County Treasurer January 1.
Dems turn out 1,957
A statewide runoff election was necessary in the Democrat race for Justice nominee for the State Supreme Court. Rick Green defeated Debra Lehrmann with 62.34 percent of the turnout in Wood County which totaled 1,957 voters.
A second runoff contest was necessary in the Precinct-2 Justice of the Peace race in the Wood County Republican primary. Incumbent Neil Moseley defeated Clint Hunt with 63.94 percent of the 843 votes cast in that race.
