Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a wanted fugitive. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information given to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.
When you give information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to the arrest and indictment in a case.

Nov. 11th: Deputy Nathan Adams responded to an assault that had taken place on Cherrywood Lane in Hawkins. On arrival, the deputy was advised that the suspect had pushed and bitten the victim on her pinkie finger and her hand. Shanda Gail Simmons was arrested for assault/family violence.
Nov. 9th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 4000 block of FM 1647 in Winnsboro where the complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen his 1993 Dodge Ram pickup. The complainant advised that his trailer was hooked to the truck and was also stolen along with a Yazookee lawn mower valued at $5,000. Also taken - two weed eaters, an air compressor and an air gun were also on the trailer. The vehicle was locked and the complainant advised that he had been out of town all weekend. The case is under investigation.
Nov. 7th: Deputy Nathan Adams was advised by a complainant with regard to an incidence of criminal mischief. The complainant advised that he had gotten into an argument with a friend and she had told him to leave. When he left the residence, he realized that he had left his phone in the residence. When he went back to the residence, his friend tried to get a phone number out of the phone. A struggle over the phone ensued and the screen on the phone was cracked. The complainant advised that he did not wish to pursue charges. The case is closed.
Nov. 6th: Deputies Kilan Polk, Mark Miller and Rusty Owens received a tip that a known fugitive was at a residence on CR 3920 in Hawkins. On arrival, Deputy Polk spoke with a lady who came out the front door. Deputy Polk asked if the fugitive in question was in the residence. The lady advised that she had not seen him in three days. She said deputies could look in the residence. Deputy Owens saw the fugitive coming out the back of the residence. Mark Drew Williams was placed under arrest for motion to revoke probation. Ivan Teresa Franks was placed under arrest for hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a known felon.
Nov. 5th: Deputy Owens met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office who advised that her renter had moved out and stolen a Fender window unity, a mirror, Chester drawer and two end tables. The case is under investigation.

During the period, there were 87 males at the Wood County Jail and 14 females. Bookings numbered 41 and there were 33 releases.
Nov. 4th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 3900 block of Hwy 154 west in Yantis with regard to a theft report. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had removed several items from her business. The complainant advised that the suspect(s) had stolen a used Kenmore washer/dryer set, a saw horse table and a queen size mattress plus box spring. The case is under investigation.
Nov. 3rd: Deputy Arthur Judge met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office
with regard to a theft. The complainant advised that his yellow 2009 Can-Am Outlander four-wheeler had been stolen. The four-wheeler was locked in the complainant's yard. The vehicle also has an ignition interrupter that prevents it from starting without the key. The four-wheeler is valued at $10,000. The case is under investigation.
Nov. 2nd: Sgt. Lee Wilkins was dispatched to the 1000 block of CR 1590 in Alba with regard to a criminal trespass report. The complainant advised that she has had trouble with the suspect in the past and just wanted the suspect to stay off her property. George Wayne Saunders was issued a criminal trespass citation to stay off the complainant's property.
On the same date, Deputy Arthur Judge was dispatched to CR 1900 in Yantis with regard to an intoxicated person. On making contact with the suspect, the property owner advised that she wanted the suspect removed from her property. The subject was belligerent. His speech was slurred and the smell of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his breath. Clifford Randal Davis was arrested for public intoxication for his safety and that of others.
Nov. 1st: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 5551 in Alba with regard to a theft. The complainant advised that three of his Fisherman's Choice fishing roads and his Plano tackle box had been removed from the back of his truck.
Oct. 31st: Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to Terror Trails on CR 1950 in Yantis with regard to an intoxicated person. On arrival, contact was made with a lady who was unsteady on her feet and had the odor of alcohol on her breath. A field sobriety test was administered. It was ascertained that the subject was a danger to herself and other due to her inability to walk or operate a motor vehicle. Kathy Fisher was placed under arrest for public intoxication. Ricky Benton and Melissa Cotton were also arrested for the same reason after a sobriety test was administered. All three are from Emory.
On the same date, Deputy J.W. Williams was on routine patrol on Hwy 154 in Yantis when he saw a man walking on the shoulder of the highway who had unsteady balance. On making contact with the subject a field sobriety test was administered. The subject was unable to complete the test due to his level of intoxication. Michael Adam Kenneweg was arrested for public intoxication.
Oct. 29th: Deputy Rusty Owens met a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a reported harassment. The complainant advised that he had received several telephone calls from a blocked number. The case is under investigation.
