Sheriff's Report

Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a wanted fugitive. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information remains confidential and you remain anonymous.
When you offer information, you will receive a special reference number for your call. You later use this number to claim a reward of your information leads to an arrest. You need not give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

October 13th: Sgt. Jayson Farmer was informed to make contact with a complainant. The complainant advised that he had two depth finders in his boat at Lake Fork. He said he subsequently found these to be missing from the boat. He said nothing else had been taken from the boat. The case is under investigation.
October 12th: Deputy Arthur Judge was dispatched to the 700 block of CR 3400 in Hawkins with regard to an unwanted person. Kyle Demarico Jackson was issued a criminal trespass citation.
October 11th: Deputy Matthew Gann was on routine patrol and conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck on Hwy 154 and CR 1902 in Yantis. On making contact with the driver and checking his license, it was found that the driver's license was ineligible. Nathan Mark Coker was arrested for driving with an invalid license, with a previous conviction.
October 10th: Deputy Chris Bettis was dispatched to the 2800 block of Hwy 154 in Quitman with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The complainant advised that the inside of his Chevrolet van had been set on fire. The case is under investigation.
October 9th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to Holiday Village in Quitman with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that the door to his RV had been pried open and several fishing rods, a depth finder and a television set had been removed. The case is under investigation.
October 8th: Deputy Mark Miller met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office. The complainant advised that she was assaulted on CR 3148 in Quitman on the night before by her boyfriend. She advised that her boyfriend told her he was not afraid to go to jail. The case is under investigation.
October 7th: Deputy Arthur Judge was dispatched to the 300 block of PR 7544 in Hawkins on a report of criminal trespass. The complainant advised that a pickup had pulled up to the entrance to his pasture and cut circles in the dirt. He said his wife had managed to get the license plate number before the vehicle sped away. Tyler Daniel Smith was issued a criminal trespass citation to stay off the complainant's property.

October 6th: Sgt. Arthur Judge was dispatched to the 1400 block of CR 2322 in Mineola with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had pried the lock loose on the door to his barn/apartment. He advised that an air compressor and several hand tools had been removed.
October 5th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 300 block of CR 2298 in Mineola with regard to an empty home that had a vehicle parked behind the home. The owner of the residence showed up and advised that she did not know who the vehicle belonged to. While speaking with the property owner, the front door opened and a white male exited the home. Steven Paul Morrow was placed under arrest for burglary. Morrow advised that he did force his way into the house.
October 3rd: Deputy Threadgill was dispatched to the 5200 block of FM 779 in Mineola with regard to a report of an intoxicated person. On arrival, the deputy noticed a man leaning against a Suburban. On closer inspection of the person, the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol. Eleazar Lopez Santos was arrested for public intoxication.
October 2nd: Deputy Kilan Polk was dispatched to the 2800 block of FM 17 north in Alba with regard to a report of a stolen four-wheeler. The complainant advised that when he returned to his residence, he noticed that his four-wheeler was not at the side of his residence. The case is under investigation.
October 1st: Deputy Bettis was dispatched to the 2800 block of FM 17 in Alba with regard to an assault that had occurred earlier in the evening. The complainant advised that his ex-wife had come to his home and he had advised her that she was not welcome. He said his ex-wife then assaulted him. The case is under investigation.
