Wood County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that heads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When a citizen calls 903-763-CASH, his or her information given to Crime Stoppers remains confidential. As a caller, you can remain anonymous.
When you give information, you will be assigned a special number reference for your call. You can then use this number at a later date of your information leads to an arrest.
Callers do NOT need to give their name. Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

August 20th: Deputies were dispatched to a possible disturbance on FM 2225 involving several subjects in a vehicle. On arrival, deputies observed a vehicle on FM 2225 and initiated a traffic stop. The subjects stated they were en route to Yantis. They also advised that the complainant Brandon Nichols was on the side of the highway in front of his residence. Suspects stated that the complainant punched the driver's side window as the vehicle came past him on the highway. The complainant's ex-girlfriend was in the vehicle and the complainant and his ex-girlfriend had some type of altercation. Criminal trespass warnings were issued to Daniel Kenney, Cory Thompson, Jacob Burgess, Darren Burgess, Marissa Lennon, and Monica Wells.
August 18th: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 north in Winnsboro with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) damaged his mailbox. This case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to CR 4249, CR4870, CR 4200, FM852 west and Hwy 37 north in Winnsboro with regard to several complainants advising that that unknown suspect(s) had damaged their mailboxes. This case is under investigation. August 16th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2922 in Golden. On arrival, deputies noticed an elderly female coming out of the residence with a smoking trash can. As the deputies approached the residence, the lady walked back into the residence. Deputies went in and escorted the lady out of the residence. She was later identified as Jonetta Thornhill. The deputies re-entered the kitchen and saw some flames. They used a fire extinguisher from their patrol unit to put the fire out. The deputies advised that while exiting the residence, a cage with two parrots was picked up and removed from the smoke-filled home. EMS was dispatched to the scene to check out Jonetta Thornhill due to the amount of smoke she had breathed in. Thornhill refused to go to the hospital. Thornhill advised that she had turned on the wrong burner on her stove and this had caused a plastic bowl to catch fire. The home is insured.
August 15th: Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 in Quitman. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his unlocked barn and removed his cub cadet weed eater. The case is under investigation.
August 14th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2220 and CR 2325 in Mineola with regard to a report of criminal mischief. Several homeowners advised that their mailboxes had been damaged by unknown suspect(s). This case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies met with a complainant with regard to a theft. The complainant advised that his juvenile daughter receives Social Security due to the death of her mother. The complainant advised that the checks were coming to his friends so that they could be deposited into an account for his daughter. The complainant advised that approximately $3,000 should be in the account for his daughter. The complainant advised that only $50 has been deposited to the account. The complainant advised that the friend gave him over $1,300 and said that she knew she owed him the rest of the money but did not have it. This case is under investigation.
August 13th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2934 in Alba where the complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) damaged his mailbox. The case is under investigation.

August 12th: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 west near Mineola with regard to an assault. When they arrived, they found a woman in the back of an ambulance. She said she was asleep and was awakened by her husband questioning her about a text message from a male. The woman said her husband told her she must think he is stupid and began striking her in the face. He left the room and returned with a cell phone and a knife. She said she had her two-year0old son in her arms while her husband continued to grab her hair and swing the knife at her. She was able to get away and ran to her neighbor's house with her baby. She called 911 at 3:45 a.m. Jose Trinidad Lopez Silverio was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
August 11th: Deputies were dispatched to North Main Street in Yantis on a report of a burglary. The complainant advised that she is the owner of a residence that her son lives in. She said that someone had removed a window air conditioner unit. The case is under investigation.
August 10th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2211 near Mineola on a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. The complainant advised that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and removed two rifles and his wallet. The case is under investigation.
August 9th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman. The complainant advised that someone had removed several tools from his toolbox in his truck that was parked in his front yard. The case is under investigation.
August 7th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2297 near Mineola on a harassment report. A man reported that for about two months he has been receiving calls from an unknown number and person. He requested a trace be placed on his phone line. The case is under investigation.
August 6th: On this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 2140 near Quitman on a report of a burglary. A man said he was in the process of moving his mother to an assisted living home. He advised that the last time he and his mother were in her home was at the end of July. He advised that he and his wife went to his mother's home to get some of his mother's things and noticed that his mother's china was missing from the china cabinet and several knick knacks were put in place of the china. The case is under investigation.
August 5th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 3490 near Hawkins on a report of a theft of prescription medication. The complainant advised that the suspect was babysitting her children at her home when her children saw the babysitter carrying the bottle of medicine down the hallway. The case is under investigation.
