Opened bids & awarded Road Oil & Oil Sand Mix Contracts

 Meeting in regular session Friday, May 29, Wood County Commissioners Court voted to aprove 5 personnel actions involving Lacie Harris, Larry Berry, Lee Clark, Leon Musick & Ronnie Moore.
It approved a payroll of $273,716.38 and 3 budget adjustments that resulted in a zero effect on the FY09 budget.
It approved 3 different claims amounts of $48,811.62, $254,670.75 and $14,955.90 covering health insurance, Accounts Payable and Direct Claims paid respectively.
It went on to approve all of the Treasurer's reports and approved a resolution to amend the authorized representatives to interact with TexPool on behalf of Upper Sabine Valley SWM District, Location #78421, Beckie Cannon, Wood County Treasurer and Kathy Lutonsky, Asst. Treasurer will be the authorized representatives and Terri Sellars, Wood County Auditor was removed as prime representative but will continue to have selective authority with Tex Pool.
Approved renewal of VINE (Victim Information & Notification Everyday) program including the Maintenance Contract with Appriss for the VINE system.
Approved of contract addendums covering internet connections, wi-fi and network with Tyler Technologies', InCode Division. They also approved of the Lifetime Warranty for the Network Infrastructure.
Road Oil & Sand Mix Sealed bids were opened Thursday, May 28 and presented to the Court today. The 4 Commissioners discussed them and voted jointly for Basa Resources for Road Oil and Wood County Asphalt for Oil Sand Mix.
Approved of proposal to advertise for bids to expend some funds from a Homeland Security Grant for Public Safety Radio System and a Dispatch Radio System.
The current contract with Winkle Oil , Winnsboro, for bulk fuel was renewed. Approved of a contract with Auctioneer.com for surplus Auction Services for the remainder of FY2009. This would work in conjunction with other sites such as EBAY for efficient sale of surplus equipment.
Approved of two "Right of Entry" permits in Precinct 4 for sand and concrete slab debris (broken up pieces) to be removed.
Approved of contract bid from Post Roofing (Quitman) $3,770 to repair roof at the Wood County tax office. Bid included clean up and use of "nail magnet" to remove nails.
Approved of proposal (and plan) from Olshan Foundation to fix drainage problems exposed by recent heavy rains at County Extension Building . The cost will be $5,960.
Approved of letter of intent to pursue Taxiway Extension Project at Wood county Airport.
Approved of Interlocal Agreement with Quitman ISD for parking lot & street repairs, including materials through March 31, 2010. The standard Wood County Interlocal rates will apply. The agreement was signed on May 11, 2009.

The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hour public notice.
