Sherrif's Report- Wood County

March 31st: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2211 with regard to a terroristic threat. On arrival, the complainant advised that a suspect had threatened to blow her head off. The case is under investigation.
March 30th: Deputies were on patrol on CR 2100 on Graffiti Bridge and saw what appeared to be a firearm in the water. Deputies requested the assistance of the Texas Game Warden in recovering the firearm. After the recovery, the firearm was placed in evidence for safe-keeping in the property room at the Sheriff's Department.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to CR 4430 with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised the suspect(s) removed several items and stacked them on the back porch then vandalized the property by tearing sheetrock from the walls and scattering clothing. The suspect(s) also entered a barn and removed several items. The case is under investigation.
March 29th: Several thefts of fishing equipment were reported in the Lake Fork area. Deputies and investigators responded. They were able to recover approximately 200 rods and reels along with two boats valued in excess of$50,000. Several items have been returned to their owners. The case is under investigation.
March 28th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 3880 with regard to an assault. The victim advised that he and his partner got into a physical altercation. The victim advised that he defended himself by striking the suspect with a bar stool after being struck in the nose. Terry Mathis was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
March 27th: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 on a report of a reckless driver. On arrival, deputies observed a vehicle stuck in a ditch. Deputies made contact with the driver who advised that the vehicle throttle had gotten stuck. On further investigation and checking the suspect before placing him in the patrol vehicle for his safety, David Grimes was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
March 26th: Deputies received a Crime Stoppers tip with regard to the whereabouts of a wanted person. They traveled to an address on CR 3540 and observed a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver who stated that she had driver's license or identification. The deputies had a photo that was a perfect match of the driver. The driver stated that her name was Holly Neiburger. Deputies again asked the driver her name, and after seeing the wanted photo of herself, she admitted who she was. After deputies checked the passenger, the suspect's identification was found in his possession. Holly Shaw was arrested for a warrant of failure to identify a fugitive from justice. The passenger, Forrest D. Sotak, was arrested for hindering apprehension and a parole blue warrant.

March 24th: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 east with regard to an assault. The complainant advised that the subject was aggressive. While speaking with the subject, he become agitated and began to make vulgar statements. Theodore Shaunnesy Bowles was arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. A criminal trespass warning was issued to Bowles at the request of the complainant.
On the same date, Deputies were dispatched to CR 2330 with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that he heard a loud noise, then saw three suspects leaving the building with several boxes. The case is under investigation. Also on this date, deputies were dispatched to the Mineola Police department with regard to an assault that had taken place on CR 2310. The complainant advised that she was assaulted by her husband. The case is under investigation.
March 23rd: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2310 with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered the residence and removed several items. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to a burglary on Holly Hill Circle at Holly Lake Ranch. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his residence and removed items valued at over $1,000. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 2120 with regard to a theft. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his residence and removed a lockbox with various items valued at $4,200.
Finally, on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 3639 with regard to an assault. The complainant advised that she was assaulted at her residence. The complainant was cut several times on the forearm. The complainant's uncle, Jimmie Harper, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
March 22nd: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 west. A complainant advised that her home was burglarized and several bottles of prescription medications were taken. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to the boyfriend of his ex-wife. The boyfriend, with the ex-wife, came to his residence to pick up the complainant's children for visitation. The suspect would shout obscenities and made threats to him in front of the children.
Finally, on this date, deputies were patrolling on CR 4519. They observed a passenger vehicle traveling left of the center line on two separate occasions. Deputies conducted a traffic stop to ascertain that the driver was okay. On contact with the driver, and a consensual search of the vehicle, deputies located several items used for drug use. Jeffery Tedford was arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.
March 21st: Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Villages with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The complainant advised that her mailbox had been removed from its post.
March 20th: Deputies observed a vehicle turn into a parking lot on Hwy 37 and attempt to hide. On making contact with the driver, deputies could smell alcohol emitting from the driver. The driver's speech was slurred and very unsteady. Christopher Roy Teague was arrested for public intoxication.
Deputies were dispatched to the Winnsboro Police Department with regard to an assault that occurred in the county. The complainant advised that the suspect grabbed her by the neck and pushed her. Suspect Kevin Lamar Stone was later contacted at his residence on FM 2869 and was issued a citation for assault by contact.
Also on this date, deputies met a complainant at the lobby of the sheriff's department with regard to identity theft. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had been using his identity to open several accounts. The case is under investigation.
Finally, on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 3988 with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that several bottles of prescription medications had been removed from the residence. The investigation continues in this case.
March 19th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2263 with regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle. The complainant advised that the suspect removed his GPS system and attempted to remove other items. The case is under investigation.
