I voted for McCain /Palen but...

I am writting this on Wednesday morning, November 5th, 2008, after the election. Yesterday morning, at around 7 to 7:30 I found myself watching a live TV picture of Mr. Obama and his wife and daughters, as they were voting in Chicago.

The camera was on this family for what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes or more, and I was impressed with what I saw. The two were not quickly hurrying through the ritual , which is so important to our Democratic process, but were carefully studying their ballots, and what was the most impressive to me, were smiling and interacting with their two daughters as they did so. The impression that I came away with was very positive and changed my perceptions of the man. I can't ever remember seeing a candidate's voting on election day conveying those same feelings to me as I watched. W.C.
