113 Grams of meth seized

Sgt. Mike Wood of the Wood County Sheriff's Department, was on routine patrol August 24th when he observed a pickup failing to maintain a single line of traffic.


The driver of the vehicle was identified as Tommy Scott Thomas, 55, of Yantis. Thomas, according to Sgt. Wood, was acting extremely nervous and visibly shaking.


Thomas had thrown something from the window of the vehicle. This was identified as a bag containing 113 grams of the drug methamphetamine.
During the investigation, it was found that Thomas had approximately $1,100 in cash. The money and the vehicle were both seized.


Thomas was arrested and taken to the Wood County Jail. He was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance - over four grams and under 200 grams.
