Animals and liquor banned from lake beaches

Meeting in regular session Friday, August 8, Wood County Commissioners voted to ban animals and liquor from the beaches on the four county lakes.

Judge Bryan Jeanes and Precinct-1 Commissioner Roy Don Shipp were not present for the meeting. Commissioner Roger Pace, Precinct-3 presided.

"Dogs and other pets and animals have become a real problem on the beaches and in other common areas of our lakes," Precinct-2 Commissioner Jerry Gaskill said in proposing support of two new rules governing the county's four lakes.
