Subway at Hawkins Robbed on Friday afternoon, 8-7-08

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Sheriff's Deputy David Barkley was advised of a robbery in progress at the Subway Restaurant located at FM 2869 and FM 14 in Hawkins. A white male between the age of 40-50 years old wearing black shorts and blue shirt came into the store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Although the suspect never displayed a weapon he kept his hand in his pocket as though he had one. The suspect left the store in a red GMC Step side ½ ton pickup with chrome rails headed in an unknown direction of travel. Lt. Miles Tucker stated that there is a possible suspect and the investigation is continuing.


UPDATE
A warrant has been issued for Brian Edward Haire, 35 of Big Sandy for Robbery, a second degree felony. Justice of the Peace Judge Clarence Holmes issued the warrant earlier this date.
