Dallas Advertising Plankickoff pushed back 30 days

The new vision "Dallas Plan" was supposed to begin on July 15 but that date has been pushed back 30 days to August 15, 2008.

Chamber president Wilson Crabtree made the announcement after meeting with his Membership Committee chairman, Sven Sterner and consulting with his Dallas Ad Committee Chair, Jerry Ryan. The reasons for the delay are two fold, said Crabtree. Certain members of the previous board have been waging a tough campaign in the Realtor community to kill the plan by convincing them not to join and pay the higher dues, which supplies the funds to advertise.

Crabtree could offer no logical reason for the resistance to the plan since most would agree, all property owners would benefit. Crabtree warned that the plan would start on August 15 and even if only ONE Realtor was on board, that ONE would get all of the leads.

He also said the Chamber is working with a large Outdoor Sign Company for 4 Bill Boards to be donated to the Holly Lake Promotion Plan.
