"Holly Lake Village" Ok'd;New trailer for Precinct-3

 Meeting in regular session on Friday, July 11, Wood County Commissioners approved two subdivision plats including one submitted for "Holly Lake Village" and authorized trading in of a goose neck trailer by Precinct-3 for a new trailer.


Commissioner Jerry Galloway was not present for the meeting as he was representing the Wood County and the North East Texas Council of Governments in meetings in Austin.

Holly Lake Village, a new subdivision plat, was approved. The 14-lot development is planned for the a ten-acre site on FM-2869 on the property immediately east of the building which formerly housed Connie's casual shop. A second new subdivision, with ten lots in the first phase was also approved. The Precinct-4 development is at the North end of Lake Winnsboro and will be known as "Waddleton Landing." Commissioners also set a public hearing date of August 8 for a proposed revision of the plat for Bluff Ranch subdivision in Precinct-1.

Commissioner Roger Pace, Precinct-3 requested and received court approval to use an older, worn goose neck trailer as a trade in for a replacement. Trade-in value is $2,100 on a new trailer costing $16,950 before trade-in.

The court formally accepted a donation of $429.90 for use by the Wood County Victim Services Fund. The donation was presented by Pastor Craig Kearby of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church #2 in Golden and two of the youth from the church's recent bible camp.

In other action the court approved:
- payroll of $264,575.22.
- employee/dependent health claims of $32,035.16.
- claims of $335.805.42.
- renewal of contract for mobile imaging services for inmates of the Wood County Jail with Southwest Mobile Imaging, Inc. Rates have been increased to $175.00 per exam and $25.00 for radiologist interpretation.
- Constable activity reports (June) for Precincts 1 and 3.
- tabling of an agenda item concerning review of county's purchasing policy.
- monthly Treasurer's Report.
Personnel actions taken at the meeting included:
- Terry Lynn Bevill, new hire, CID Sergeant, WCSO, $16.56/hour.
- Allen J. Bridges, resignation, jailer, WCSO, $12.82/hour.
- Gerald C. McCoy, new hire, laborer II, Pct.-4 R&B, $13.26/hour.
- Angela Luman, promotion from deputy to chief deputy, Tax Assessor/Collector's Office, from $26,870.72 to $31,901.12 annually.
- Melissa Ann Hicks, change in position, deputy district clerk, District Clerk's Office from full-time to part-time, from $13.70/hour to $9.00/hour.

The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, July 25 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hours public notice.
