E-mail Print PDF

On June 25th, Wood County Investigators Randall Lain and Miles Tucker cleared several local thefts with the arrests of Timothy Vaughn, 22, and Jason Craig Williams, 21, both of Winnsboro. Warrants were issued for the pair after they were caught with some of the stolen property. Investigators had identified them as possible suspects in several thefts. After several months of investigation, surveillance was set up on the suspects.

The suspects attempted to sell one of the stolen items and investigators caught the suspects with the item. Both suspects were taken to the Wood County Sheriff's Office and it was later learned that Vaughn and Williams had been involved in the following criminal activity:

· Burglary of a business located off 312 where a water pump was taken.

· Burglary of the Pct. 4 barn where a riding lawn mower, along with tools and a brand new compressor were taken.

· The theft of two central air units from the Fellowship Church located off FM 2088.

· The theft of a central air unit at the Little Hope Baptist Church located on CR 3990.

· The theft of a central air unit from Lou's Country Inn located off Hwy 37 south of Winnsboro.

Investigators retrieved the compressor taken from the county barn at a residence near Winnsboro. They retrieved the riding lawn mower from the water at Lake Winnsboro where it had been dumped by the suspects. The investigators also retrieved several parts from the central air units, however, they had been disassembled and stripped for the copper content in the units.
