E-mail Print PDF

June 25th, Franklin Albert Pearce was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child. This followed a three day trial before a Wood County jury of four women and eight men.

Pearce, 50, was convicted of having continual sexual relations with a six-year-old girl. The prosecution was led by Assistant Criminal District Attorney Brandon Baade, with Angela Converse, assistant criminal district attorney, assisting.

The jury assessed a verdict of life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division. The 402nd Judicial District Judge Timothy Boswell approved the jury's recommended sentence.

According to Wood County Criminal District Attorney Jim Wheeler, Pearce will likely serve at least 30 years of his sentence before receiving parole review, based on current trends in Texas
