Two arrested on discovery of meth lab in Yantis

On October 30th, Judge Tomerlin, Justice of the Peace for Pct. 1, issued a search warrant for the residence of Joey and Tanya Head. The residence is located at the Gateway apartments in Yantis. Officers from the Wood County Sheriff's Department executed the search warrant.

Numerous items from various burglaries were found. Officers also found that there was a methamphetamine lab located in the apartment. Numerous chemicals and hazardous waste was found on the premises. Officers also located approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine.

The Head's nine-year-old son was also living at this location. Child Protective Services was contacted.

Joey Head and Tanya Head were both charged with possession of methamphetamine as well as the manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine.

The investigation is continuing into the location of the items found with regard to burglaries.

Officers who participated include Sgt. Terry Bevill, Lt. Miles Tucker, Cpl. Randal Lain and Sgt. Kelly Cole.
