On August 29th, Deputies from the Wood County Sheriff's Office executed a narcotics search warrant on CR 1260 off FM 2225 northwest of Quitman.

Two people were located at this residence - Thadius Lincoln McKenzie, 47, of Mineola and Cheryl Elaine Bryant, 37, of Quitman. Both were arrested and charged with the manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance - over four grams and under 200 grams.

Officers found numerous guns, illegal knives and narcotics at the home. They report that over 150 grams of pure "Ice" methamphetamine were found, as well as packaging material, scales and assorted drug paraphernalia.

"Ice" is highly addictive and is one of the most dangerous forms of methamphetamine.

Additionally, about $1,000 in cash was seized. This is the second time deputies have located drugs at this residence and that both individuals have been arrested. McKenzie and Bryan were taken to the Wood County Jail.
