Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.

When you give your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.

Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

July 6th: Deputy Brad Armendariz was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2110 in the Quitman area with regard to a victim being assaulted by her boyfriend. The case is under investigation.

July 5th: Deputy Joshua O'Grady was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 6290 in the Mineola area with regard to an injury to a child. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 2260 in the Mineola area. The victim advised that her son's girlfriend had assaulted him and was refusing to leave the property. On investigation Samantha Barker was placed under arrest for assault/family violence.

Also on this date, Deputy David Hitt was dispatched to a report of a reckless driver on Hwy 11 west. On locating the vehicle, the deputy conducted a traffic stop, When the deputy made contact with the driver he noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the inside of the vehicle. On further investigation, Jimmy Paul Shirley of Lone Star was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated – third offense or more. Bond was set at $50,000.

July 3rd: Deputy Chris Turner was dispatched to the 3700 block of CR 2100 with regard to unknown suspect(s) that had damaged her mailbox. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Robbie Ballard observed a pickup ignore a stop sign at CR 1886 and FM 515 east in the Yantis area. On making contact with the driver, the driver advised the deputy that he did not have a driver's license or any valid insurance. During investigation and a consensual search of the vehicle, a controlled substance – methamphetamine – was located. The driver, Mason Alexander Luscomb was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000.

Also on this date, Deputy Turner was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2174 in the Quitman area with regard to an assault. The victim advised that he was struck in the face and was knocked out. The case is under investigation.

July 2nd: Deputy J.W. Williams was dispatched to FM 2869 and CR 3840 in the Hawkins area with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen the copper from the church's air conditioning unit. The cost to replace the copper tubing is $800. This case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Turner was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2166 in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had gone into her unlocked residence and stolen an Xbox Kinect 360, a 47-inch Vizio flat screen television, DVDs, jewelry, Xbox games and a VCR all valued at over $1,800. The case is under investigation.

July 1st: Deputy Sellers was dispatched to the 800 block of CR 4895 in the Winnsboro area with regard to an intoxicated person. On investigation, Georgette Kim Bowen was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

June 30th: Deputy O'Grady was dispatched to the 3800 block of Hwy 154 east in the Quitman area with regard to a theft. Five breakers had been stolen from the victim's electrical panel. The breakers are valued at $100. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 300 block of CR 2651 in the Mineola area with regard to a theft. Over $5,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from the victim's residence. The case is under investigation.

June 29th: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a theft. The victim advised that a subject had stolen two Indian artifacts valued at $6,000. The case is under investigation.

During this period, there were 64 males and 11 females at the Wood County Jail for an overall total of 75. There were 39 releases and 33 bookings.

June 28th: Deputy Ballard was dispatched to CR 2590 with regard to a fire involving downed power lines. On further investigation, it was discovered that approximately 1,500 feet had been taken. The case is under investigation.

June 25th: Deputy James White was dispatched to FM 2966 on a report of a woman standing in the ditch. On investigation, Karen Evelyn McRae was arrested for public intoxication.

On the same date, Deputy Hitt was dispatched to the 7200 block of FM 515 on a theft report. A woman stated that someone had stolen her prescription medication. The case is under investigation.

June 24th: Deputy Williams was dispatched to the 140 block of CR 2920 on a domestic disturbance report. On arrival, the deputy found a disturbance in progress. Billy Jefferson Roberson was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence.

On the same date, a deputy responded to the intersection of CR 3245 and CR 3235 on a theft report. A man reported that someone had stolen a 450-pound pulley wheel off of his International square baler. The cost is estimated at about $1,500. The case is under investigation.

June 20th: Deputy Williams was dispatched to a property located on Hwy 154 where some heavy equipment is stored. Someone had stolen two Interstate batteries off a Caterpillar backhoe tractor and damaged the positive and negative cables. The batteries are valued at $100. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Williams spoke with the owner of DAI Guardrail that had property stolen at the same location on Hwy 154. It was reported that two Motorcraft batteries and one Interstate battery were taken from a Ford F-150 truck. Two batteries were also taken from a new John Deere backhoe. Also, 100 feet of copper wire used as welding leads was also stolen. The items are valued at $305. The case is under investigation. Also on this date, Deputy O'Grady was dispatched to the 2000 block of FM 49 on a report of a copper theft. Someone had stolen the copper wire from several telephone poles. The case is under investigation.

Finally on this date, a deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of CR 2379 on a theft report. A man reported someone cut the welding leads off of his welder. They were valued at $450. The case is under investigation.

June 19th: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the beach at Lake Winnsboro on a report of a stabbing. Investigator Jerry Blaylock said it was reported that the suspect and another man were fighting for an unknown reason. The victim, a 30-year-old man, had attempted to break up the fight. Reports were that the suspect had stabbed the victim with a long-bladed knife in the left side of his abdomen, then left the scene. Blaylock stated that he has not been able to substantiate claims that the suspect said he was a member of Banditos. A warrant has been issued for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for Richard Larocca of Winnsboro.

June 17th: A deputy was dispatched to Woodland Storage on FM 2869 in Hawkins on the theft report. A man reported that a set of Snake Eye golf clubs and bag had been stolen, valued at $675. The case is under investigation.

On the same date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to Pro-Form on Hwy 37 on a burglary report. It was stated that someone had stolen the contents and copper endings of a five-gallon drum. The copper endings are valued at $5,000. The case is under investigation.

Also on this date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 4400 block of Hwy 69 on a theft report. A man reported that when he returned to his home, his ATV trailer was missing. The trailer is black, four-by-seven feet, and valued at $400. The case is under investigation.

On this same date, four deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2315 on a report of a criminal trespass in progress. ON arrival and search, pills were found on Raymond Kyle Burden. He was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs. The sheriff's department later reported finding drugs on him in jail which caused him to be charged with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.

Finally, on this date, Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to the 6000 block of FM 778 on a theft report. A man stated that someone had broken into his house and then cut a hole in the ceiling to steal copper wire from the attic. The case is under investigation.
