Phone threat empties courthouse
Just after 11 a.m. on June 30th, a telephone threat caused the Wood County Courthouse to be evacuated.
According to Kilan Polk of the Wood County Sheriff's Department, an alarm went off indicating that officers were needed at the courthouse. When they arrived, officers were told that someone had called and advised that everyone needed to get out.
After the evacuation, a full and lengthy search took place. Nothing suspicious was found and everyone returned to their offices. Polk said the case is under investigation.
