Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.
When you give your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

On May 13th, a father and son were caught stealing copper from a residence on CR 4450 at 10 a.m. after deputies received a call from a concerned neighbor who had observed the activity. Deputies found the two with copper in hand and more in their pickup. The two were identified as Jerry Ivicic, the father and his son, Justin Ivicic. The two confessed that they did not have permission to take the copper from the house, which was vacant. They were arrested and charged with copper theft. The son was also charged with possession of marijuana - under two ounces. The sheriff's department offered no explanation why the incident was not reported until June 2nd.
June 8th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 5800 block of FM 1801 in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that suspect(s) broke into her home and stole her spare purse, a John Deere collectible knife, and over $200 in groceries.
June 7th: Deputy Chris Bettis was dispatched to the 100 block of North Main Street in Yantis with regard to an assault. The victim advised that her husband had assaulted her, that she was locked in a bathroom and he was attempting to break the door down. On arrival, Deputies Bettis, Nathan Adams and James White checked the residence for the suspect. The suspect had left. The victim had to be transported to the hospital due to injuries sustained to her neck and back during the assault. Mike Allen Nolen was later arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence. Bond was set at $3,000.
June 6th: Deputy David Hitt was dispatched to the intersection of Hwy 182 and CR 1112 in the Quitman area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked shop and trailer and removed over $1,400 worth of go-carts, a TV, helmets, fuel, tools and an air compressor. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Bettis was dispatched to CR 1950 with regard to a suspicious person report in the Yantis area. On arrival, the victim advised that the suspect had left the scene. Bettis and Trooper Brandon Owens began looking for the suspect's vehicle. Trooper Owens located the suspect on CR 1961. Shellie Lynn Proctor was placed under arrest for driving with an invalid license and no insurance.
June 5th: Deputy Bettis was dispatched to the 300 block of PR 5435 in the Quitman area with regard to an assault. The victim advised that his daughter had been assaulted. On investigation, John Kenneth Van Fossen was arrested for assault by contact.
On the same date, Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 3690 with regard to a burglary in the Hawkins area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had pushed her door open and removed a Toshiba laptop computer, a Wii game console, eight games and over 60 DVDs. The case is under investigation.
June 3rd: Deputy Hitt was dispatched to the 1700 block of CR 1785 in the Yantis area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his boat house and removed over $3,800 worth of fishing rods and reels. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, a deputy was dispatched to CR 3540 in the Hawkins area with regard to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. On arrival, contact was made with Trooper Tommy Barrett and Deputy David Hitt. The driver's speech was slurred and she was unable to focus. Ashley Alexis Pylant was arrested for driving while intoxicated and her passenger, Denise Marcell Davis was arrested for public intoxication.

June 2nd: Deputy J.W. Williams was dispatched to the 5400 block of Hwy 37 north with regard to a criminal trespass report. The victim advised that she did not want a subject back on her property. Christie Lin Slaughter was issued a criminal trespass citiation.
June 1st: Deputy Zach Soto was dispatched to the 100 block of Wild Rose Knoll in the Hawkins/Holly Lake area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that his Panasonic camcorder, a Hewlett Packard Photosmart digital camera, and his wireless router/modem were stolen. The case is under investigation.
May 31st: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to Lake Holbrook beach area with regard to an intoxicated female. On approaching the subject who matched the description given, the subject was having trouble maintaining her balance. A smell of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. Donece Smith was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
May 29th: Deputy David Hitt was dispatched to the Winnsboro Police Department with regard to an assault that took place in the 2100 block of FM 1647 in the Winnsboro area. The victim advised that she was assaulted by her boyfriend. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White was advised of a disturbance on the side of the Hwy 154 in the Yantis area. On making contact with Deputy Chris Bettis, who had separated the two subjects, Bettis advised that they got into an argument while at a friend's residence and were asked to leave. Shanda Gayle Simmons and Michael Glenn Mays were arrested for public intoxication.
May 28th: Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to the 5900 block of Hwy in the Yantis area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen her prescription medication. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Zach Soto was dispatched to Hwy 37 and FM 779 in the Quitman area. He stopped a vehicle that was traveling at a high speed. On making contact with the driver, the deputy found that the smell of an alcoholic beverage and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. On further investigation marijuana was located in the vehicle. Jeffrey Edward Frank and Mason Kendal Hudnall, both of Texarkana, were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. Officer Robert Holland of the Quitman Police department also assisted.
May 27th: Deputy Hitt was dispatched to the 800 block of CR 4870 in the Winnsboro area with regard to an assault. The victim advised that her common-law husband had assaulted her. On investigation, a warrant was issued for Claston Beardon for assault/family violence with previous convictions. Beardon was arrested on May 28th for assault causing bodily injury/family violence with previous conviction, criminal mischief, DWI - third offense of more and evading arrest.
