County Pledges $1.2 million of collateral to Bank Texas

Meeting in regular session Friday, August 21, Wood County Commissioners approved four personnel actions including the resignation of Lacie Harris, County Clerk Deputy, who has been accepted at TJC in their Respiratory Care Program; the hiring of Zackary Paul Noble as CSO 1, at a salary of $27,000 per annum, effective 8-4-09; hired part time John Rupe at $7.50 per hr; hired full time Sabrina Walker as Asst. Treasurer at $14.72 per hr., effective 8-10-09.
In other actions the court approved:
- a two-week County payroll of $278,713.25
- claims and payments totaling $353,504.68
- employee and family health care claims of $57,068.42
In other actions the court approved: a total of
$12,820 in line item Budget transfers for FY 2009, including CSCD $2,070; Disrict Court, $250; Juvenile Probation, $10,500.
Budget adjustments of $15,486.25 were also approve in this motion that passed.
Delene DelaRosa, Director QPL, then made a presentation of information on the Quitman public library including their Mission and usage numbers.
The Commissioners then considered and approved of the assignment of Judge Paul Banner to the 402nd District Court of Wood County for a period of 5 days (or more if necessary to complete trial work) beginning on 8-17-09. The order was issued by Judge John Ovard of the First Admin. Judicial Region on 8-5-09.
In other actions the court approved Dick Walker's appointment to the WCIC Board as a representative of the City of Yantis.
In other actions the court approved a small copier lease agreement for the County Clerk's office from Xerox.
In other actions the court approved a Utility Easement on Lake Quitman, called "The Hillside Right of Way Release" as identified by Wood County CoOp map # 33-10-15-62-13.
In other actions the court approved a right of entry permit for sand to Marvin Joe Blaylock, of Mineola, Tx, for the Carlson WS Tract 34, a 6.238 acre piece of land off FM 49.
In other actions the court approved the compensation for County Auditor, Asst. County Auditors and Court Reporters for FY 2010 at $57,995, $36,688 and $56,188 respectively.
In other actions the court approved and awarded a Master Control Upgrade for the Wood County Jail to Montgomery Technology System, Inc. at a cost of $77,850.
In other action the court approved the report from the County Treasurer.
In other action the court approved an agreement signed byTroy Robinson, President of Bank Texas, Quitman, Texas, covering a total of $1,205,000 in six different financial instruments that the county has pledged to the Bank as colateral.
In other actions the court approved an annual Health Service Agreement with the State of Texas (contract # 2010-032810) under Purchase Order #0000352949 at a total cost of $42,138.00
In other actions the court approved a contract with Olshan Arklatex, LP for work to be done on a structure located at 619 S. Main Street, (Texas Co-Op Extension Office) Quitman, Tx. Total cost of the work is $8,580 with 50% paid in advance and bal. on completion. The contract was signed by Bryan Jeanes, Wood County Judge.
In other actions the court approved of the Sheriff's and Constable fees for FY 2010 that will take effect on 1-1-2010.
The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hour public notice.
