E-mail Print PDF

Carson & Barnes Circus, with the "Biggest Big Top on Earth," is coming to Quitman Texas on March 27, 2007.

Carson & Barnes presents artists from around the world. Included in the performing lineup are Two Giant Wheels of Death, Acrobats, Jugglers, Wild Animal Acts, Millers Prancing Ponies, Flying Trapeze and Hilarious Clowns.

Carson & Barnes is complete with elephants, numerous domesticated exotic animals such as hippopotamus, camels, llamas, horses and many others.

The Carson & Barnes Circus is brought to you by the Quitman Heritage Foundation (QHF). This fundraiser for the QHF was initiated in October 2006 with the proceeds going toward the Foundation goals of preserving and promoting the heritage and culture of Quitman and Wood County. The QHF is also the host for the Light Crust Doughboys Hall of Fame and Museum.

The Big Top is the largest on the planet, measuring 270 feet by 150 feet. There are more thrills, chills and excitement in the program schedule than ever before. Kathy McKinley, Executive Director of the Quitman Heritage Foundation said, "I believe that the 70th edition of the Carson & Barnes Circus will be two hours of the finest family entertainment that our community can enjoy for the price. We are very proud to have them and we hope the memories will be lasting for everyone who attends."

The public is welcome to see the creation of a magical "Circus City", March 27th beginning around 8:00 a.m. and continuing until noon. They can witness a vacant lot transform into a world of magic and see history in the making as elephants raise the Big Top. This will be a memorable event for the entire family and it is free to watch this magical transformation take place.

Carson & Barnes Circus will be holding two shows on March 27, 2007 - 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Advance ticket prices are Children (2-11) $6.00, Adult (12 and up) $12.00.

Mrs. McKinley urges purchase of tickets early to be sure to have a seat. Tickets outlets will be announced in the near future. Phone the Quitman Heritage Foundation, 903.763.2701, for more information.
